Resource Management Tools

For a more near-term view (0-6 months), Cora provides task-level resourcing to allow for the allocation of work to project team members involved with the delivery of project activities. This in turn facilitates the leveraging of our Timesheet and Workflow tools for tracking task costs and underpinning task and project governance.

At a granular level, Cora has extensive task management capabilities to assist the project manager in tracking project activities on a day-to-day basis. Tasks are driven from the project schedule in the Gantt and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) modules, and at this level, the work can be assigned to resources to populate their dashboard view.

Tasks can be assigned to resources individually on a named basis or on a skill basis. A suite of email alerts is available to notify resources they have been assigned and can act in conjunction with the user’s dashboard to provide prompts and reminders regarding late tasks or tasks that are due for completion shortly.

The task-level resourcing also feeds into the Cora Timesheet for tracking of actual effort associated with the work performed and can be underpinned in terms of governance via the Cora Workflow component.

Our Resource tools provide a ‘full circle’ for resourcing. Starting with a skill analysis, then moving to assign resources to calculate the planned cost, and finally with users recording time against tasks to provide actual cost.
