Growing up in the Carrick-on-Shannon area I had always admired the work Cora Systems was doing. I have always been proud that a local company can more than hold its own when competing with global multi-billion-dollar companies. As part of my third year of study for my Level 8 BSc in Enterprise Computing with DCU, I was required to complete a six-month internship. This provided me with the perfect opportunity to get involved with the Cora Systems team.
Upon joining Cora I was given the warmest of welcomes and settled in with ease. My placement began with an in-depth tutorial of the Cora PPM Product. I was amazed at its combination of useful functionality and ease of use. I was tasked with providing a user help guide detailing the use and navigation of Cora PPM. What could have been a daunting task was made easy by the support I received from my Cora colleagues. Whenever I had any issues or questions, there was always someone there to give me an answer or provide a solution.
I thoroughly enjoyed working with everyone in Cora, each person had their own unique skill-set and I’m delighted to have been given the opportunity to learn from each of them. Cora also has a large focus on keeping its staff happy. There are frequent days out throughout the year which give everyone something to look forward to as well as regular activities such as pool and table tennis tournaments. This all adds to the Cora culture which is far stronger than I could have imagined.
All in all, I’m delighted to have been given the chance to experience working with Cora Systems. I am keen to take all that I have learned, along with my experiences, into my final year in college.
